Wake County Commissioner Jessica Holmes received her Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law. She is licensed to practice law in North Carolina and New York. She is an education law attorney for the North Carolina Association of Educators. As a first generation college student, her top priority is addressing the cycle of poverty by ensuring access to a quality education for all students. In November 2014 she was elected as the youngest commissioner ever elected in Wake County’s history. This past December she was unanimously elected as Chair of the board.
